So it turns out that Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway is up for three awards at The British Comedy Awards tonight, including The People's Choice Award, the nominations for which actually specify that we wrote it. I wonder if we'll win something. It would be ironic if we did, considering we're not working on the next series... And unfortunately we won't be going to the awards either as their ticket allocation isn't big enough.

Ho hum.

UPDATE: Well I think I may well be the first blogger to have won a British Comedy Award which is some kind of achievement, I reckon. Sadly our names were not mentioned, despite the reassurances of our ex-producer earlier today. A shame, I say, since Mark and I were responsible for creating a lot of what went into that programme - Mark alone came up with Little Ant and Dec, perhaps the most successful and well known part of the show. Still, at least we won something, so now Mark and I can say we are Sony Award-nominated and Royal Television Society and British Comedy Award-winning writers. Hooray for us.
